CAPIO EPIC Awards recognize the best-of-the-best in government communications
Riverside, Calif. - Western Municipal Water District (Western) received four 2018 Excellence in Public Information and Communications (EPIC) awards from the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO). The District was recognized for its ongoing community relations and marketing efforts associated with the La Sierra Pipeline Project, and also for its company newsletter The Splash.
“Western is proud to have a top-notch Community Affairs Department, and we are honored that their work has received statewide recognition,” said Western’s General Manager Craig Miller. “Transparent communications with the communities we serve is a top priority of the District.”
Western brings home the awards in the following categories:
The Splash, Western’s internal newsletter, was awarded top honors for keeping it employees informed of Western’s people, projects and programs.

Through strategic communication and outreach Western’s Community Affairs team successfully educated and communicated the project to regional stakeholders.
