Water Pressure Questions

Water Pressure
Included with the information you receive when you establish water service will be a pressure statement and notification of the probable pressure conditions at your property.

High-Pressure Water Service
Water service to the property will be subject to periodic high pressure in excess of 80 pounds per square inch (psi). As a result, it’s necessary for you to purchase, install and maintain a pressure-reducing control device in order to maintain satisfactory pressure. Devices are available at most home improvement stores.

Low-Pressure Water Service
Water service to the property may be subject to water pressure below 30 psi. As a result, in order to obtain satisfactory pressure, it may be necessary for you to purchase, install and maintain a hydropneumatic pressure pump or other device. Devices are available at most home improvement stores.

Variable-Pressure Water Service
Water service to the property may be subject to water pressure below 30 psi or above 80 psi. As a result, it’s necessary for you to purchase, install and maintain both a hydropneumatic pressure pump (or other device to provide adequate pressure) and a pressure-reducing control device to maintain satisfactory water pressure. Devices are available at most home improvement stores.

No-Pressure Water Service Water service to the property will be subject to periods of no pressure. As a result, in order to obtain satisfactory water service, it will be necessary for you to purchase, install and maintain off-site and on-site water lines and a hydropneumatic pressure pump or other device at the location designated by the District. Devices are available at most home improvement stores.

Customer's Pressure Regulator
You are responsible for the purchase, installation, maintenance, operation and repair of a pressure regulator assembly. This assembly must meet the requirements of the latest Uniform Plumbing Code accepted by the county of Riverside and must be installed at locations where required.

The District will determine pressure zones. It is recommended that the pressure regulator assembly be installed at a suitable location on your property so that all of your indoor and outdoor systems will then have regulated pressure. Devices are available at most home improvement stores.
