The Western Riverside County Regional Wastewater Authority (WRCRWA) facility is essential to providing wastewater treatment services to the community. The facility can treat up to 14 million gallons per day of wastewater (sewage).
Wastewater is treated at a tertiary level (one of the highest treatment levels) and the resulting recycled water is currently discharged to the Santa Ana River.
The facility uses cutting-edge technologies to minimize odors resulting from the treatment processes.
Besides the health and welfare benefits the community receives, the facility will soon be capable of delivery of recycled water for local uses on parks, nurseries and other outdoor spaces while reducing the region’s dependence on imported water.
WRCRWA is a joint powers authority consisting of the cities of Norco, Corona, Jurupa Community Services District, Home Gardens Sanitary District and Western.
