RIVERSIDE, CA – Western Municipal Water District (Western) was named among Inland Empire’s Top Workplaces in 2020 by the Inland News Group. This is the fourth year Western has received the award. This year, Western placed 10th in the mid-size organization category.
The winners were decided based solely on the results of employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administrator, Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey asked employees to evaluate several aspects of workplace culture including organizational alignment, management, execution and connection, to name a few. Only 25 other companies in the Inland Empire were honored with this prestigious award.
“At Western, people are our greatest asset. To deliver the highest-quality water and wastewater services to our community, Western must attract and retain a highly trained and professional workforce to operate the complex systems that deliver water to and from your home,” said Craig Miller, Western's General Manager.
Labeled essential workers early in the pandemic, Western’s staff moved quickly to altering work schedules, remote working environments and changing priorities. This included a shift to smaller work groups, longer workdays, and less staff interaction, but none-the-less Western’s employees remained focused on making sure customers had access to safe, reliable, high-quality water.
“Throughout 2020, I have been impressed by our staff’s willingness to work harder, more efficiently and with competing priorities in their personal lives in order to reliably serve the community,” added Miller. “We strive to ensure that our employees feel supported and engaged so they can function at their best every day. We are especially proud to receive the Top Workplace award in 2020.”
