Western Municipal Water District recognized for excellence in financial reporting

RIVERSIDE, CA – The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Western Municipal Water District (Western) for its annual comprehensive financial report (ACFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2020. This is the 16th year that Western has been recognized for financial reporting through this award.

The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes

demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate

potential users and user groups to read the report.

“Building public trust through demonstrating financial accountability and transparency is strongly valued here at Western and across the communities we serve,” said Western’s General Manager, Craig Miller. “We take pride in embracing GFOA’s ‘spirit of full disclosure’ through our annual financial report that is publicly accessible on our website.”

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and
